Lonneker bandstand
For the first few weeks of my stay in Netherlands I lived in the small village of Lonneker, a few miles north of Enschede. This is the bandstand by the square in the centre of the village.

The church at Lonneker is a large brick building standing over the market square.
Although Lonneker is a small village, it has a disproportionate amount of art studios and shops.
In the centre of the village is a small memorial statue.
The small Hotel Savenije is one of the main hubs of the village, with a restaurant/bar attracting many locals late into the hot summer evenings.
The modern statue of nails remembers the iron working history of the village, these nails appear in a number of places across the village.
In the car park next to the apartment I stayed was this living art - when it detected motion in the area is sprang into life.
Some more art, this time outside another gallery further from the main square.
It seems to be some kind of a tradition to hang a schoolbag on a flagpole, perhaps this is the outcome of a boisterous end-of-school celebration.
